Although Riverside Avenue was a popular subject of photographs and postcards in the early 20th century, most depictions do not follow Riverside far enough east to capture the Emery. This is one of the few images we have of the hotel. While the artist choosing colors for this postcard may or may not have seen the Emery in person, contemporary accounts indicate that the red brick façade is accurate.
