Old and New Whitman County Courthouses, 1955

Looking northwest, this was taken the year before the old courthouse was destroyed. The new building was constructed around the existing structure and once it was completed the original building was torn down. This occurred in 1957. The superior courtrooms, where the three lynching victims were tossed from, are the wondows upstairs in the front and right hand side of the building.
