The Swastika Hotel was built by the Swastika Mining Company in hopes of Lakeview becoming a popular resort town. Notice the detailed ornate work on both verandas. The hotel closed in 1930 and later burned. Courtesy of the Museum of North Idaho.

Lakeview, Idaho was once a thriving mining town with a population of over 1,000 in 1890. Within 40 years the town became an isolated community of about 20 people.
