After the hospital was deactivated the remaining patients were moved to other military facilities. One reason Spokane was chosen for the hospital was the access of railroad routes and it was planned for the hospital to have its own railroad for bringing patients and supplies. Unfortunately the city and military failed to complete the plans so when patients arrived in Spokane by train they then had to be transported to the hospital.
